Steve Charter SC2Steve has extensive policy and project experience working with local government, NGO’s, business and individuals in developing effective sustainability projects and strategies that bring results.

Steve has particular expertise in sustainable construction strategies/projects, sustainability skills projects, sustainable living, sustainable communities and the relationship between health and sustainability. He is a consultant, author, and trainer/tutor, was one of the UK’s first Agenda 21 coordinators (Leicester Environment City/environ 1993-95). He has worked both independently and in the not-for-profit sector, notably on the establishment of the SusCon project in north Kent and on the pioneering Somerset Trust for Sustainable Development, now Ecos Trust.

Steve Charter of SC2 lives in a low carbon community (Hoathly Hill) of 29 dwellings and around 70 residents of all ages in West Sussex. He is a voluntary Director of Hoathly Hill Renewable Energy Ltd, which manages the community's own renewable energy projects.
