Overview
My skills and experience focus on the initiation of new projects, strategies and products.
Specialising in analysis, conception and planning of pioneering sustainability, regenerative and health & wellbeing projects e.g. project design, developing coherent project proposals, project partnership building, feasibility studies, reports, business planning, funding applications.
My expertise and experience includes: sustainability projects & strategies, particularly for demonstration & learning initiatives; sustainability training and education; sustainable construction training & skills; sustainable technology skills programmes; community project design, planning and strategy; competencies and learning pathways for sustainability, net zero and circular economy; capacity building for sustainable low carbon communities; permaculture design for learning & demonstration projects and business.

My track record includes:
Leading and delivering Community Climate Coaches trainings in the UK, including 2 day in-person workshops and online Community Climate Coaches: Foundations course (current), with Permaculture Association Britain, in partnership with Scottish Communities Climate Action Network, Shift Bristol and Climate Action Leeds.
Director and co-founder Evolution Music, developers of Evovinyl, the world’s first bioplastic LPs through an extended R&D process, to help transform the vinyl market – the company has a sole focus on developing circular economy sustainable solutions for physical media in music (2018-present).
Community garden outline design for William Robinson Gravetye Charity (2024).
Circularity in cricket gear and local cricket gear reuse schemes consultancy work and reports for the Centre for Sustainable Design, UCA (2024).
iACT project lead: focused on sustainability, regenerative and permaculture learning and demonstration centres – secured funding and led 3 year iACT European multi-partner project focused on creating a guidebook, multiple resources (e.g. Case Studies), online self-study course and support system (2019-23).
Blended transformative learning for sustainability and regeneration – definition of competencies & learning pathways within European multi-partner project focused on optimising online and in-person learning programmes, systems and methods (2017-19).
Lush Spring Prize Case Studies – writing multiple case studies on outstanding regenerative projects that were Lush Spring Prize winners in 2017 and 2018 (delivered 2018-19).
IPEN (International Permaculture Education Network) Lush Spring Prize winner in 2018 – IPEN’s work contributed significantly to securing in excess of Eu.550,000 funding for multi-partner permaculture, regenerative and climate action education projects across 11 European countries.
High Weald Sustainable Housing Study, proposed and delivered analysis of options, report and recommendations for the High Weald AONB Office (2016).
Sustainable Construction Module (Level 4-5) on CIOB approved Construction Management Degree Apprenticeship, led the writing, coordination of expert tutor team and delivery for the University of Hertfordshire and Oaklands College (2015-17).
Innovate UK ultra low carbon building system project and TSB Building Performance Evaluation project – helped secured funding and delivered key outputs for the Pines Calyx low impact venue (2012-15).
Closing the Performance Gap Masterclass – co-developed and delivered for the Good Homes Alliance (GHA) – the UK’s first professional training on closing the energy performance gap in buildings, and entry level ‘closing the performance gap’ training for GHA and LABC (2013-5).
UK’s first Sustainable Construction qualification (Level 3 Certificate) – proposed and co-wrote the qualification which was adopted into the UK qualifications system (now accredited by City & Guilds). This was part of work to develop Greengauge Trust’s comprehensive low carbon training and skills development programme, including being a member of Green Deal Capacity & Innovation working group (2010-12).
Kent sustainable building & technology skills strategy – undertook analysis, designed and wrote the strategy (2010).
Suscon regional sustainable construction training programme; led planning of the overall programme, and developed and delivered Understanding Sustainable Building Skills training for SMEs (2010).
SusCon: the UK’s first dedicated sustainable construction training centre: led feasibility and business planning for establishing this £6m+ flagship project, working as part of a consultancy team with Kent County Council Sustainability Manager, Steve Rees and consultant team.
Somerset Trust for Sustainable Development (later renamed Ecos Trust and Ecos Homes) proposed and helped established this non-profit eco-housing developer and centre for information, advice, networking and events focused on sustainable housing issues. Wrote STSD Guides on Planning & Construction for Sustainable Housing, and Sustainable Construction for Community Buildings & Village Halls; contributing author Building sustainably: how to plan and construct new housing for the 21st century (Sustainable Housing Forum Report published by TCPA & WWF)
